Homemade Salsa

Posted on Updated on

I’ve never tried Salsa before since you can’t really buy it here in Hong Kong (well at least I don’t know where you can get some salsa here) but seriously. This looks amazing and delicious and it looks sooo mouth watering. It’s currently 11pm and I’m hungry for some of that salsa. I’m definitely going out tomorrow to get the ingredients needed for this recipe and making it in the afternoon. I need mah snack for my upcoming Marvel movie marathon. It looks really tasty and it probably is. I personally love guacamole and I know I know salsa isn’t guacamole but they’re kind of the same thing right? Anyways. I hope it turns out right when I make it.

Karen in the Kitchen

According to an old Seinfeld episode, salsa ranks #1 in America as the top condiment of choice, over ketchup.  I did not know this.  But, after tasting this homemade salsa, I can see why!

On this particular day that I made this refreshing salsa, I didn’t know that I was going to also be giving my kitchen counter tops a thorough cleaning.

Read on to find out how it all came about.

In your trusty food processor, add in chopped onions and fresh garlic.

Next pour in the cans of tomatoes.

Of course, salsa would not be salsa without jalapeno and lime.

Here’s where it got interesting.  Let’s play a game of I Spy.  Can you spot something wrong with this picture?

Have you found the lovely stream of pink fluid exiting my food processor?  If you’ve ever overfilled your food processor before, enough to fill your counter with a…

ohlala. these look so delicious and divine. they probably taste delicious as well and looking at the recipe, it looks like it’s super easy to make as well. ohmygod. I can’t wait till Thanksgiving to make these for my family. Here’s a tiny little fact about me: I love cooking and baking. I once baked two of my best friends cupcakes for their birthdays, but I used the boxed cupcake mix. Shh don’t tell them. What they don’t know won’t hurt them. Though I do feel bad for making their birthday cupcakes from a boxed cupcake mix. I will make it up to them somehow. Maybe I can bake them something else this year. Ahh who knows. I have till June of next year to figure this out. I’ll figure something out by then.

Rocky Road Cookies

So, I was just on Pinterest. Browsing through the Food & Drinks section and ohmygod. This. Looks. Freaking. Delicious. But all I can do right now is just stare at it and imagine how good it’d taste and how badly I want one right now. Seriously hate trying to control the amount of food I eat because I’m seriously gaining a lot of weight from letting myself eat whatever I want whenever I want. I’m not saying that letting loose once in a while is bad but I’m doing that constantly, which is really bad for your body. Also trying to loose some weight before my cousin’s wedding, wouldn’t want to see all those wedding photos years from now thinking, ohmygod I was so fat. Anyways. I will come back to this recipe in December. I promise. I will make these cookies for Christmas. They still look really delicious. They probably taste like heaven as well.

Rocky Road Cookies | Amandeleine

Every Tuesday evening after work, I come home and I work on my blog.

I upload photos off my camera.

I select a reasonable number of those photos (usually around 7-9) to edit.

I bring the selected photos into Photoshop for some mild tweaks in terms of levels and colour tones.

I upload the edited photos to WordPress and finally, write a blog post to go along with them and the recipe.

It is currently Tuesday evening at 10:56pm.

I don’t usually start this late…

Confession time – Girl Code

Posted on Updated on

Hi guys.

So, I don’t know if any of you have heard of this TV show before or you have and you’ve just never been bothered to go online and check it out. It’s this show done by MTV; and I’m completely and utterly obsessed with this show. Girl Code is fucking amazing. They literally talk about everything from like period to sex to boyfriends to mean girls to … (you get the idea). I just love that show. It’s funny but everything they say is so true and their advices. Girls need to watch this. Hell, guys should watch it as well, just to understand girls more. Guys, seriously, if you think that girls are confusing and complicated creatures, watch Girl Code.

I never thought that I’d learn anything from a show that is produced by MTV, I mean look at Teen Moms and Teen Moms 2. I mean if you’re going to make a show called Teen Moms to show teenage girls how shit will be if you get pregnant and to stop them from doing it, I don’t think you’re doing a really good job. The only thing that, that TV show has taught teenage girls is that: “LOL it’s like totes okay to get pregnant at like 16 and like I could totes try out for the next season on Teen Moms and like I’d totes blow up and turn into a huge reality TV star and I’d get so many followers on twitter like omg.” IF they’re so-called lesson to the teenage girls worked, Teen Mom 2 wouldn’t exist. Though I must admit that MTV did do a really good job with Girl Code.

Girl Code is honestly like the fun Holy Bible of the girl world. They have so much insight into everything that it’s just fucking brilliant. It makes me wish that one of them was my sister so that watching Girl Code wouldn’t be a guilty pleasure. Like seriously, people get so much shit on liking certain things. I get shit for liking Irish Gaelic cover of Pop songs. I fucking love that song because parts of it is true and I can really relate to it. PARTS of it. I also get a lot of shit for liking Royce’ potato chips. For all the sad people who has no idea what I’m talking about and is really confused as to what it is. It’s basically chips dipped in chocolate.  It. Is. Honestly. The. Best. Tasting. Thing. In. The. World. It’s like once you go Royce, you’ll lose your voice. (eh eh eh you see what I did there?) Gosh, I seriously need to stop making so many puns. Honestly, there’s a lot more on this list. BUT I’ll save that for next time.

Till next time. Au revoir x
